The Governor-elect of Plateau State, Hon. Simon Lalong, on Monday pledged to work with all the 53 tribes in the state.
Lalong made the pledge during a thank you visit to Plateau State Indigenes resident in the Federal Capital Territory, under the umbrella of Plateau Stakeholders Abuja.
The Governor-elect described the contribution of indegenes of Plateau State in the FCT at the just concluded elections as awesome, promising to work with all of them without any discrimination.
He pointedly declared that the great role they played in the last elections saved the state from tribalism allegedly introduced into the state politics by the administration of outgoing Governor Jonah Jang.
According to him: “The great role, support and contributions the Plateau people played, which ensured our victory during the just concluded state governorship election, would forever be remembered.”
Lalong, who was elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, therefore promised to involve members of the Plateau Stakeholders Abuja in forming a reputable government.
His words: “We would ensure that all the 53 tribes in the state make their imput in our government.
“This is a government for all.
“The APC government in Plateau State would heal the wounds of hates and dis-unity.
“I want to assure all Plateau people that we would also work with the Elders’ Advisory Council from Abuja for good governance of our people.”
The Chairman of the Plateau Stakeholders in Abuja, Nankpak Nden, thanked Lalong for deeming it fit to pay them a visit.
Nden declared that Lalong has shown that he will be proactive in every ramification by carrying all the people of Plateau State along.
