The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, President Goodluck Jonathan, has assured the people of North Central Nigeria of his resolve to continue with his administration’s good work if re-elected in the February 14, 2015 elections.
Jonathan made this promise at a presidential campaign rally at Rwang Pam Stadium in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The President explained that he was adopted by his party for continuity and consolidation of the achievements of his administration, adding: “It will be wrong to deviate from the tempo of development already set in revamping irrigation agriculture, intervention on infrastructural legacy in creating wealth to young entrepreneurs, including Plateau State youth, who will benefit from the administration.”
Jonathan thanked the people of Plateau State and party faithful for supporting the Goodluck/Sambo ticket and for finding him worthy to fly the party’s flag in the coming presidential race.
Jonathan said that the fact that the state has witnessed uncommon transformation and massive infrastructural development under the Governor Jonah Jang administration is an assurance that the PDP will always resolve any crisis.
He said the achievements of the Jang administration had also made his own campaign much easier.
According to him: “Our party has performed well in Plateau State.
“That is why it’s easier for us to convince the people that we will do even much more if given the second chance.
“It is much more easier for us to come out and vote for PDP from top to bottom by returning them in the home of peace and tourism.
“We are grateful to the governor because of the tremendous goodwill he has brought to the state.
“The best we can do is to continue from the legacy of Chief Solomon Daushep Lar, Joseph Gomwalk, where they all stopped.
“I can assure you that we will have seamless continuity.”
While urging the people to vote for him, he promised to also bring the much needed federal presence to the state.
Jang described the PDP as one big family in Africa were you interact with great people.
He pleaded with President Goodluck Jonathan to allow Nigerians make use of the Temporary Voter Cards for the February general election.
He said except this was done, many Nigerians will be disenfranchised.
He added: “My appeal to you, Mr. President, is that over the years we have been making use of temporary PVC and everything went on successfully, let us also do it this time around.”
Jang assured President of Goodluck of delivering to him about 1.5 million votes, urging the citizens not throw away their votes by casting it for the opposition.
The gubernatorial candidate of the PDP, Senator G.N.S. Pwajok, also presented his running mate, Architect Yilji Gomwalk.
Pwajok urged the people to collect their Permanent Voter Cards to enable them vote for all the candidates of the party.
The long hours of waiting for President Jonathan’s entourage was quite long but many cultural entertainers, cut across the length and breath of the country, helped in shortening the hours.
