A 14-year-old boy in Asaba, Delta State has confessed to the killing of his step brother and raping of his sister.
Chinedu Efemena is in custody for killing his eight-year-old step brother, Oghenekaro Efemena, and raping his six-year-old sister.
Efemana said he carried out the acts to repay his father because he hated him and his mother, while he loved the other wife and her children.
He said: “That is the only way I can punish him for such attitude towards me.”
Efemena, who was paraded by the Delta State Commissioner of Police, Mohammad Mustafa, alongside 27 other criminal suspects at the police headquarters in Asaba, said it was not true that the suspect was born in 2004 as he claimed.
Rather, Mustafa said Efemena was born 18 years ago.
Mustafa said Efemena was arrested based in the complaints of his father, Afure Efemena, 55.
The suspect said: “I killed Oghenekaro by sitting on the head and holding his two hands while he was asleep until I noticed that he had stopped breathing and sneaked out of the house.”
He said now that he has killed his step brother and placed a stigma on his sister, he would see how their father would continue to show love to them in death or feel the pains at the expense of other children.
