Chelsea FC star, Victor Moses, has said he is proud to be a Nigerian.
The 22-year-old striker, who spoke shortly after his inspiring play won Nigeria her third African Nations cup title in South Africa on Sunday, pledged to contribute more in subsequent international assignments.
Although he previously played for England at junior levels, Moses said that winning gold for his native country was simply his best moment so far.
Moses said: “This is one of the happiest days of my life.
“This is a dream come true.
“I am so proud to be a Nigerian.
“The win is for each and every one back home.”
The former Wigan Athletics striker thanked Nigerians for what he described as massive support.
Moses scored two goals during the tournament.
He also emerged as the winner of Samsung fair play award.
He was also named among the CAF best 11 for his outstanding display.
