Hours after the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the 2023 elections in Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, mocked his opponent on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, the former Lagos State Governor has congratulated the former Vice President on his 76th birthday.
The Eagle Online recalls that Tinubu had in Gbaramatu, Delta State on Friday termed Abubakar a serial runner.
At a meeting in the palace of the Pere of Gbaramatu Kingdom, Oboro-Gbaraun II (Aketekpe, Agadagba), with Niger Delta stakeholders, Tinubu said Abubakar should be prevailed on to step down.
The National Leader of the APC, who was conferred with a traditional title, said of Abubakar: “Kabiyesi, Your Royal Highness, as I stand before you, there are few of us left running.
“One says he is Atiku.
“How many times has he been running?
“He’s always on the run and he’s tired.
“Tell him to go and sit down.
“Enough is enough.”
However, a few hours later, Tinubu took to his Twitter handle to congratulate Abubakar on his 76th birthday.
He tweeted: “Congratulation to the PDP Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, on his 76th birthday.
“I wish him well as he marks his birthday.”
