Gunmen have attacked the popular Jolly Hostel at Ogbe-Ofu Quarters, Ogwashi-Uku in Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State.
One Johnson Obule, a 27-year-old man, who led the gang, hails from Ogbe-Ishago Quarters, also in Ogwashi-Uku.
Johnson was however unlucky as men of the special anti-robbery squad of the state Police Command swiftly mobilized to the scene and arrested him.
The police spokesperson in the state, DSP Celestina Kalu, at the command’s headquarters in Asaba, said the suspects were already attacking their victims before the Divisional Police Officer in the locality raced to the scene.
Kalu listed the items recovered from them to include one knife and one Daylong motor cycle with registration No. EHR 280 QA.
She lamented that the fleeing gang members were still at large, adding: “Investigation is in progress while efforts are on to apprehend the fleeing suspects.”
