Tragedy struck in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State on Monday/
A Deputy Superintendent of Police, Anthony Jeaga, was murdered by unknown gunmen.
Before his gruesome death, Jeaga was the Divisional Traffic Officer in charge of Agbor Divisional Police Headquarters.
He was recently transferred from the state police headquarters, Asaba, the state capital, to where he met his untimely death.
His lifeless body was abandoned along the Agbor-Abavo Road, the expressway leading to Abraka, Ethiope East Local Government Area of the state.
The victim, who hails from Otuo, Owan East Local Government Area of Edo State, was killed barely one month after the command’s Police Public Relations Officer, Lucky Uyabeme, died in an auto crash.
The gunmen escaped with his silver coloured Toyota Camry car with registration number AYB 88 AA.
Meanwhile, the new Police Public Relations Officer for the Delta State Police Command, DSP Tina Kalu, who confirmed the arrest of a suspect in connection with the incident, said investigation into the gory had intensified.
The Eagle Online gathered that the suspect had earlier uttered unwarranted comments about the victim before his death.
The Police high command in Asaba on Monday hinted that the body of the victim had been deposited at the General Hospital morgue, Agbor, for autopsy examination.
