Gunmen on Thursday killed a village head and seven others in two separate attacks in Chikun and Jema’a Local Government Areas of Kaduna State.
The gunmen were said to have stormed Sarari village in Chikun Local Government Area in the early hours of Thursday on motorcycles.
They were said to have embarked on an house to house shooting, during which they killed the village head, Sule Sarari, and five others.
Eight persons were wounded in the village.
The member representing Jema’a/Sanga Constituency, Nicholas Shehu, confirmed the killing of two persons in Jema’a Local Government Area.
Shehu said the deceased was killed on their way back after taking a sick patient to Kafanchan.
He said: “This will be the third time that an attack will be carried out from the uncompleted Asso bridge.”
