Three gun men have reportedly killed a retired director with Shell Exploration Nigeria Limited, Bon Ukah.
Ukah was shot dead in his Port Harcourt, Rivers State home at Obiokpor area on August 16.
It was gathered that the gunmen scaled the fence of the deceased residence at about 10pm when he was relaxing in front of his house and shot him several times in the stomach.
Ukah was rushed to the hospital where he died on Saturday.
Ukah, before his grusome murder, contested the Ezeship stool in Itu Mbiase, Imo State.
Chief Nkemdirim Amaechi, a kinsman of the deceased, decried the growing insecurity in the country as he appealed to the police to fish out the killers.
Amaechi said: “This is indeed very sad and we are not happy about Sir Bon’s death.
“He was a worthy son of Itu Mbaise and was also an Eze aspirant.
“He was cut down in his prime by unknown gunmen while he was relaxing in his home.
“We want the government to fish out his killers.”
Meanwhile it was gathered that policemen attached to the Obiokpor Police Station have arrested a suspect in connection with the death.
