Gunmen on Friday evening in Kano, Kano State shot dead another lawmaker of the state House of Assembly, Hon. Danladi Kademi.
Kademi, according to the Public Relations Officer of the Kano State Police Command, Magaji Majiya, was shot dead at about 6:30pm on Friday at Hotoro by Ring Road on the outskirts of Kano town.
The lawmaker was representing Gaya Constituency.
On November 17, yet-to-be-apprehended gunmen shot and killed another lawmaker representing Garko Constituency in the state House of Assembly, Ibrahim Garko.
Majiya said the suspicion was that Kademi was killed by hired assassins.
He said the gunmen, who operated on a motorcycle, shot dead Kademi who was sitting in front of his uncompleted guest house.
He said: “Immediately they arrived at the place, they opened fire on the deceased who was sitting in front of his uncompleted guest house and fled the area.
“The gunmen are suspected to be hired assassins.
“The commissioner had also directed security men at various checkpoints to ensure thorough checks of vehicles with a view to enhancing security, particularly in the area.”
Kademi was a two-term chairman of Gaya Local Government Area before moving over to the House of Assembly.
