A Bursar attached to the Akure Anglican Diocese Secretariat, Alagbaka, Akure, Ondo State, Gabriel Abiodun, has been shot dead by gunmen.
The Bursar was shot dead in the premises of the church as he returned from a new generation bank, where he had gone to collect N500,000.
According to available information, the money was meant for the payment of pensioners.
Sources said as soon as Abiodun entered the church premises, he was accosted by the armed robbers.
He was reportedly shot because he hesitated in handing over the money to the fully armed men.
The spokesman of the Ondo State Police Command, Femi Joseph, confirmed the incident.
Joseph said: “The man was shot.
“We are investigating the incident.
“The body has been evacuated.”
