Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has dissolved the state Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board appointed by former Governor Abdullahi Ganduje and appointed new members.
This was revealed in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Malam Sanusi Dawakin-Tofa, on Tuesday in Kano.
The statement announced the sacking of the Executive Secretary of the board, Malam Muhammad Danbatta, and replacement with Alhaji Laminu Rabiu.
Yusuf also approved the sacking of the Chairman of the board, Sheikh Abdullahi Saleh Pakistan, and appointment of Alhaji Yusuf Lawan as successor.
Another prominent member of the board affected by the sack was Malama Nana Aisha, the daughter of late Islamic cleric, Sheikh Jafar Mahmud Adam.
The new members of the board are: Sheikh Abbas Abubakar Daneji, Sheikh Shehi Maihula, Amb. Munir Lawan, Sheikh Isma’il Mangu, Hajia Aishatu Munir Matawalle and Dr. Sani Ashir.
The statement said the appointees are expected to takeover the affairs of the board immediately to ensure successful 2023 Hajj operation.
