The governor of Kastina State, Aminu Bello Masari, has stated that President Buhari’s declaration will help the APC and the president achieve the vision of the party.
Masari stated this in Lagos when he spoke with Eagle Online stressing that the APC inherited some problems from the previous administration, hence it will require a lot of work before the fortunes of the country will be turned around.
He said: “You see when the party came into power and they inherited some problems from the party that was previously in power and the party with a difference because the slogan “change” does not mean change of faces. It means change in the way we do business and with the mess of the mess of the former administration, implementing the vision of the APC and the vision of President Buhari, requires more than four years. Clearly, there is a pointer and a direction to where we are going.”
Masari lamented the backwardness of education in the North and especially and he assured that his government of restoration will do everything within its powers to nip the menace in the bud.
While talking about the “feud” between him and his predecessor, Ibrahim Shehu Shema, who he said that his government is not probing the last administration for the contracts they awarded but is only asking questions about money withdrawn from the treasury and which has not been accounted for.
On the feud between the executive and the legislature, the governor who was also a former speaker of the House of Representatives, described the situation as “unfortunate” stressing that if budgets are not passed it is the nation that suffers and not the president.
He said: “Whatever problems they (legislature) are having with the executive arm is normal but the problem should not be at the expense of the nation. If you don’t pass budgets, who suffers? The matter is been painted as if their action is for the benefit of the president but it is not.”
While calling on the lawmakers to sheathe their swords to ensure that national duties do not suffer at the expense of their misunderstanding, the governor stated on his time in the chambers where despite the challenges they had with the president, they still achieved a lot of things because they refused to allow the problems hinder their national assignments.
