The Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, has distanced himself from a social media post purporting that he has endorsed one Alhaji Tajudeen Lawal, who claims to be the Peoples Democratic Party candidate for Ekiti Constituency House of Assembly seat for next year’s election.
Governor Ahmed, in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communication, Dr. Muyideen Akorede, distanced himself from the purported endorsement, saying at no time did he make the statement credited to him in that social media post.
Ahmed advised politicians and other individuals to refrain from attributing unauthorised pronouncements to him, stressing that his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communication, and his Chief Press Secretary, Wahab Oba, his spokesmen, are the only officials with authority to issue statements or otherwise speak on his behalf.
