Taiwo Kola-Ogunlade, the Communications and Public Affairs Manager of Google, Anglophone West Africa, on Saturday urged Nigerians to utilise the organisation’s Do it yourself YouTube video.
Kola-Ogunlade said in a statement in Lagos that Google should not be seen as a search engine alone, adding that it has other functions.
He said: “You do not have to get a professional to do everything, there are things you can do yourself.
“So, let us imagine you want to replace your car battery and have no idea whatsoever on how to go about it, you look at the battery tray, the clams, and you wonder where and how to begin?
“Don’t feel lost. YouTube can help. YouTube has many DIY videos on even some of the most obscure things, like How to change a baby’s diaper?
“Whenever you need to self-improve fix, replace, modify or upgrade, there is a chance for a YouTube video that will help you do it, almost or just like a professional.”
Kola-Ogunlade listed seven cool DIY: How to make ‘REAL’ Coconut Oil (old school); how to cover earrings with African fabric; Gele tutorial: Tie Aso-Oke Gele- Layers Technique.
Others are: “How to make Nigerian cake- all Nigerian recipes; how to replace a car battery; how to fix stuck on boot start screen problem in Android phone and tablet; and how to fix a toilet- fill valve replacement.”
The Google manager urged users to click on Uniform Resource Locator for more information: YouTube
