Maj. Gen. Benson Akinroluyo, General Officer Commanding 3 Division, Nigerian Army, Jos, has called on Gombe State Government to collaborate with security agencies to sustain the peace in the state.
Akinroluyo made the call during a courtesy visit to Governor Ibrahim Dankwambo in Gombe on Wednesday.
He said that his visit to the state was to familiarise himself with 301 Artillery Regiment as the new GOC.
The GOC thanked the government and people of the state for cooperating with security agencies, saying, this had created a peaceful atmosphere.
He said the military in collaboration with other security formations in the country were trying their best to see that peace and security were maintained.
He said: “Security is everybody’s business, hence all hands must be on deck to ensure conducive and peaceful environment for all.”
In his remarks, the governor, who was represented by his Deputy, Charles Iliya, commended the Nigerian Army for their prompt action in ensuring peace and security in the state and the country.
Dankwambo said Gombe was relatively peaceful because of the measures put in place by the Military and other security personnel.
He said that some of the developments recorded in the state were as a result of the efforts of the security agencies.
He said his government would continue to support all the security agencies to maintain the relative peace in the state.
