“Pharaoh sent for Joseph at once and he was brought hastily from the dungeon. After a quick shave and change of clothes, he went in and stood in Pharaoh’s presence.” Genesis 41:14.
As you read this message, the process of bringing you out of that situation is being put in motion. Yes, you have stayed in that condition long enough. It is now time for you get out! To fetch means to bring back, to draw forth, to cause to come out. You are coming out of that situation today in the mighty name of Jesus! It doesn’t matter how long you have stayed there. It doesn’t matter how deep or how difficult the situation, but that God has decided to bring you out, to honour and bless you and nothing can stop it! The word of God has come to fetch you, to draw you out.
Joseph was in the prison when Pharaoh sent them to go and fetch him. He had gone through what I want to call a ‘chain of trials’ that culminated into imprisonment in the then notorious dungeon. A dungeon is a dark underground prison cell. And worse is that in some of those prisons then, the prisoners are usually chained together or against other objects. But how did he get there? The innocent boy went to give food to his half brothers that were taking care of their father’s sheep in the field when they disrobed him out of envy and threw him into a pit. From the pit, they sold him to the Ishmaelite traders who resold him to Potiphar; a personal staff of the king of Egypt. Now, it was at Potiphar’s house that he was falsely accused by the man’s wife and sent to that dreaded dungeon.
Wow! That was indeed a chain of trials. First, he was envied by his brothers, thrown into the pit by them, maltreated, sold out, resold, betrayed, falsely accused and landed into secured, dark prison. My God! Now, has any of the above described your current situation? Were you betrayed? Were you falsely accused and maltreated? Have you been paid evil for good? Hate for your love and affection? Are you in a situation that looks like a dry pit or are you covered by what looks like a cloak of massive darkness, depression and confusion? Is your life, your business, and your family, relationship in what looks like dungeon; harassed and chained? Joseph was there before you.
And also do you know what made Joseph’s experience most painful? It is that his suffering came from those he did favour to. Look at it: He went to feed his brothers. They collected the food and ate, but mocked, disrobed, bound and sold the boy. Joseph had served Potiphar’s family well and faithfully, but they paid him back with seduction, false accusation and imprisonment. In the prison, it was also the same experience. The person he helped to escape death went back to the palace, forgot him and continued with his life. Betrayal! Betrayal! Betrayal!
Now, what is your situation like? Is it as described above or something else? I have good news for you today. The word of God is drawing you out in the mighty name of Jesus. There is nothing you are going through now that people have not gone through before and survived. Till next week. Share this message with others.
