The Ghana Actors Guild has concluded arrangements to host Nigerian actors.
This is in partnership with the Actors Guild of Nigeria to commemorate Ghana’s 57th independence anniversary.
The 35-member Nigerian delegation is expected to arrive in the country on March 2 and will spend a week absorbing some of Ghana’s interesting sights and sounds while participating in a number of activities lined up for the visit.
While speaking at a press conference in Lagos, the President of the Ghana Actors Guild, Samuel Odol Mensah, said members of both Guilds would engaged in a two-day workshop on March 3 and 4.
In the morning of Day One, according to Mensah, there would be a float of students from Cycle Schools in Accra, Ghana, followed by choral music, poetry recital and sketches by the students.
A re-enactment of Ghana’s independence struggle by actors from the two Guilds will then be staged in the evening of Day Two, at the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park.
Other activities lined up included a football match between the two sides, which takes place at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, Ghana.
A dinner and awards night at the Banquet Hall, Accra, Ghana on March 8 will climax the week long event.
