Cynthia Osokogu, 24, who was declared missing last month, has been confirmed dead by the police.
Miss Osokogu,a postgraduate student of the Nassarawa State University and daughter of a retired Major General, Frank Osokogu, was reported missing on July 22, 2012.
However,Ngozi Braide the Lagos State Police Command spokesperson, said on Monday that her corpse was discovered in a mortuary.
Sources said Miss Osokogu, before her death, lived in Nassarawa State where she owned a boutique.
Sources also added that she came to Lagos last month to purchase goods for her boutique but was clubbed to death in her hotel room at Festac Town by unknown assailants.
It was gathered that the policemen attached to the Area E Police Command, FESTAC, are interrogating six persons in connection with the case.
Before the revelation that she had died, family members of the deceased had appealed passionately to members of the public on Blackberry Messenger and other social media to help locate her.
