Thirteen members of the Progressive Governors Forum on Monday stormed the National Assembly as the Speaker of House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, vowed to challenge the court ruling on the crisis in the Edo State House of Assembly.
The Court had ruled that the National Assembly lacks the power to take over the Edo State House of Assembly following the leadership crisis rocking it.
In his remarks while welcoming the members of the Progressive Governors Forum, Gbajabiamila said the House of Representatives was disappointed with the ruling.
Gbajabiamila, who expressed dissatisfaction with situation, said the House crisis in Bauchi State, which belongs to the opposition, had already been resolved, while Edo State, which belongs to the ruling party, is yet to be resolved.
He vowed that the House of Representatives will go to the Court of Appeal to challenge the judgement.
The Governor of Edo state, Godwin Obaseki, was in attendant at the meeting when Gbajabiamila made the remarks.
The Governors are currently in a closed door session with the federal lawmakers.
