Amid the Coronavirus Disease lockdown, Nollywood actress and Ambassador of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, Funke Akindele Bello, threw a party to celebrate the 43rd birthday of her husband, Abdul Rasheed Bello, also known as JJC Skillz.
The party was held on Saturday in their Amen Estate home located in Ibeju-Lekki axis of Lekki Peninsula, Lagos.
The “Jenifa Diaries” star had earlier taken to the social media to celebrate her husband.
The party was held during a lockdown announced by the Federal and Lagos State Governments occasioned by the COVID-19 spread in Nigeria.
Both governments had banned social gathering in order to curb the spread of the disease.
In a video clip that has since gone viral on social media, the couple were dancing to singer Naira Marley’s “Tesu Mole” song.
Marley himself was at the party.
The video, which was posted on Twitter, had seen users of the social media platform castigating the Bellos for holding the party despite the ban on social gathering.
However, the Ambassador of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control defended herself, saying those at the party had been camped in her estate for two weeks.
She tweeted: “Thanks for the love guys!!!!
“We all have been together for over two weeks.
“We are safe and taken all precautions!!!”
Her husband and celebrant too said: “God bless you.
“Thank for all the love and support.
“Had a wonderful birthday although we were on lockdown.
“The residence of Amen Estate came out for me.
“Don’t worry people.
“We are all isolated in Amen/Estate.”
