The Sango-Ota Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps has appealed to the Federal Emergency Road Maintenance Agency to repair the Lombady axis of the Sango-Ota-Idiroko road, to avert road mishaps.
Adekunle Oguntoyinbo, the FRSC, Sango-Ota Unit Commander, made the appeal in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Ota, Ogun, on Thursday.
Oguntoyinbo said that the appeal was necessary as the Lombady axis on the Sango-Ota-Idiroko road had become important as that portion of the road had become a death trap to motorists.
He said: “FERMA urgently needs to provide palliative measures at this portion of the axis because of the huge potholes in the area, to prevent unnecessary loss of lives.
“I have observed that the Lombady area is risky to people plying the road because containers are likely to capsize due to the deplorable state of the road.”
Oguntoyinbo, however, implored motorists to be cautious and patient while plying the road, to prevent unnecessary accidents.
