Security agencies, including the Federal Road Safety Corps, are tackling the increase in human and vehicular traffic in Kaduna and the Federal Capital Territory.
This followed religious activities by the Shiite sect, led by Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky.
This has resulted in traffic snarl in both Kaduna and Abuja.
In Kaduna, the traffic from Abuja has been diverted to the Western Bye Pass.
The spokesman of the FRSC, Commander Bisi Kazeem, said everything is being done to control the situation.
Kazeem in a text message to The Eagle Online, said: “There is an increase in human and vehicular traffic in the FCT as a result of an ongoing religious activities.
“All security agencies are on top of the situation.
“We assures Nigerians of safety and security of the motoring public.”
