The Federal Road Safety Corps has directed commuters and commercial transport operators in all states to observe social distancing in vehicles, even if the states are not under lockdown.
Boboye Oyeyemi, Corps Marshal, FRSC, gave the directive in a statement made available by the Corps Public Education Officer, Bisi Kazeem, on Saturday.
Oyeyemi said: “Social Distancing remains one of the most important public health strategies and quite effective in slowing down the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19).
“Do not overload; Stop the spread of COVID-19; Health is wealth.”
President Muhammadu Buhari on March 29, 2020 in a national broadcast announced the lockdown of Lagos and Ogun States and the Federal Capital Territory from 11pm on March 30, 2020.
