The Federal Road Safety Corps on Wednesday announced the diversion of traffic on the busy Minna-Bida Road in Niger State.
This followed the cutting off of a portion of the road by undercurrent water.
According to the FRSC’s Head Media of Relations and Strategy, Bisi Kazeem, the undercurrent water has cut off a large portion of the road connecting the Minna-Bida Road, with threat of total collapse.
Kazeem said articulated vehicles were now sinking on the road.
He thus said there was the need for road diversion between Wednesday and Thursday for urgent rehabilitation.
The diversion is as follows: All motorists from Lagos to Minna to divert to Bida-Lapai- Paiko-Minna Road; Lagos-Abuja to divert to Bida-Lapai-Paiko-Suleja Road; and Minna-Bida to divert to Minna-Lapai-Bida Road.
Kazeem added: “This is to enable the state carry out urgent rehabilitation work.
“FRSC Officers and Men on ground for traffic control at the location.”
