Four more names were on Thursday added to the list of senior police officers to be moved to the next rank in what has been termed as a special parting gift by the outgoing Chairman of the Police Service Commission, Sir Mike Mbam Okiro, The Eagle Online has been told.
The Eagle Online learnt that the four Deputy Commissioners of Police, who are being primed to become Commissioners of Police, were at the Abuja office of the PSC on Thursday for the interview for the promotion.
This brings to 14 the number of DCPs to be promoted to the next rank of CP.
Though the full names of the benefitting officers could not be obtained, two of them were said to DCPs Jimeta and Magaji.
Among those that found their way into Okiro’s parting gift special list promotion are Dan Okoro Aguike (Deputy Commissioner, Administration, Budget) and Adeleke Yinka, Aide-De-Camp to President Muhammadu Buhari.
As earlier reported by The Eagle Online, there has been uproar over the issue of special promotion under Okiro, with majority of beneficiaries said not to have merited it.
