Four members of the Edo State House of Assembly have indicted their readiness to dump the ruling party in the state, the All Progressives Congress, The Eagle Online can report.
According to information reaching The Eagle Online on Monday, the four members submitted their letters of intention to dump the party on the floor of the House.
The defecting members are Hon. Patrick Osayimwen, Oredo East; Hon. Jude Ise, Idehen, Ikpoba, Okha; Hon. Momoh Abdulrazak, Etsako West 1; and Hon. Ogierhiakhi Friday, Orhionmwon 11.
The Eagle Online learnt that the lawmakers are heading in the direction of the Peoples Democratic Party.
There have been complaints about the running of the affairs of the APC by the state Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.
Owing to this, some prominent members of the party have dumped the APC for the PDP in the last few weeks.
Beside the complaints about the running of the party by Oshiomhole, the PDP in Edo State has also embarked on aggressive membership drive.
It was gathered that the PDP in the state is desirous of having political heavyweights dump the APC and others parties for the PDP ahead of the visit of President Goodluck Jonathan to the state in the next few weeks.
Jonathan is expected to welcome the new members to the party during his visit.
The next gubernatorial election in the state comes up in 2016, while the state will also partake in next year’s general election.
