The Lagos State Police Command has arrested four men, suspected to be from Chad Republic, for robbery.
The men were allegedly going for a robbery operation when a team of policemen on patrol arrested them.
Police spokesperson, Ngozi Braide, who made the disclosure on Thursday, explained that the four men are all from Shuarab natives from Chad Republic.
Braide further revealed that the suspects’ entry into Nigeria was illegal.
One dagger, cutlass, two saw blades, three pliers, three fez caps, four ropes and assorted charms were recovered from them.
According to her, on February, 3, 2014 about 2am, a police patrol team attached to Ikoyi Division, while on patrol along Lugard Avenue, Ikoyi, arrested the four men identified as Ibrahim Abba, Ibrahim Solu, Rafiu Guja and Hassan Abba.
She added: “The men are also security guards in various homes in Ikoyi. They were arrested in a Honda Accord Saloon car with registration number FV 846 LSR. On searching the vehicle, one dagger, one cutlass, two saw blades, three pliers, three fez caps, four ropes and assorted charms were recovered from them. The suspects have confessed they were going for robbery operation in Ikoyi area. Effort is on to arrest other gang members. The case is under investigation at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Yaba.”
