Former Vice President Namadi Sambo loses elder brother

Alhaji Suleiman Sambo, the elder brother of former Vice President,  Arc Mohammed Namadi Sambo, has passed away.

Reports gathered disclosed that Alhaji Suleiman Sambo died on Monday at the age of 82 after a long illness. 

He is survived by his wife, 11 children, 52 grandchildren, and 38 great-grandchildren.

During his career, he served in the Department of Government Printing within the defunct Ministry of Information and Home Affairs, Kaduna State, retiring as a Chief Superintendent in 1994 after 35 years of dedicated service.

Alhaji Suleiman Sambo was a respected community and religious leader whose impact was celebrated by many at his funeral, held at the Bashama Road Cemetery.

The service was attended by family members, relatives, and sympathizers, including former Vice President Namadi Sambo, as well as religious and traditional leaders.

Leading the funeral rites, the Chief Imam of Kaduna Polytechnic Central Mosque, Ustaz Sadiq Yusuf, urged Muslims to commit themselves to the worship of Allah and to contribute positively to their communities. 

According to him, Alhaji Suleiman Sambo was known for his dedication to religious tolerance and peacebuilding during his lifetime.
