The Police in Edo State has confirmed the abduction of Hassana Garuba, wife of former Speaker of Edo State House of Assembly.
Garuba, a serving Magistrate in the state, was kidnapped at Obadan village near Ogbemudia Farms on the Benin-Okenne-Lokoja Road on Tuesday morning.
The Police Public Relations Officer in Edo State, Abiodun Osifo, confirmed the abduction.
Osifo said the police were working hard to locate and set her free.
He said: “The matter has been reported.
“Our men are combing the area where the incident happened with a view to securing her release and arrest those responsible.
“We have deployed the necessary machinery, including electronic devices, to secure her release.”
Garuba was said to be travelling to Ehor where she is a Magistrate when she was kidnapped along with other persons yet to be identified.
A family source said the kidnappers had not contacted them.
