Flying Eagles’ combative midfielder, Akinjide Idowu, has vowed that they are prepared to dash the Junior Elephants hopes of progressing into the semi finals at the ongoing African Youth Championship in Senegal.
Idowu, who has featured in the two preliminaries against Senegal and Congo, disclosed this at a post-match conference held at the Caroline Faye Stadium on Friday.
The player, a member of the all-conquering Golden Eaglets team at the FIFA U17 World Cup, UAE 2013, believes the time has come to avenge their past loses to the Ivorians.
“Our head coach (Manu Garba) has always reminded us that we are here to win all matches.
“So, the game gist Cote d’ Ivoire won’t be an exception because we are going all out to pick the maximum points in the group.
“Don’t forget that there is an unsettled scored between us and the Ivorians.
“So, we believe it is now or never to beat them and move on with our games as well as our plants for the World Cup later this year.”
Idowu is of the Nigeria Young Academy.
