The dead body of a five-year-old boy, Surprise Saka, has been discovered inside an unclosed pit at Idode area of Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State.
The boy was reported missing by his mother, Adijat Saka, on January 10, 2024 at Ago-Iwoye Police Station.
Saka’s body was later discovered inside an uncovered pit intended to serve as a latrine behind the mother’s house.
According to reports, the pit, which is still under construction, is filled with water and physical inspection.
The boy was said to have drowned.

Further inspection showed no sign of violence on the boy.
A medical doctor confirmed the death of the boy.
