Five persons have been confirmed dead and three injured in a multiple accident in Lagos State.
The accident occurred on Thursday evening on the bridge opposite Michael Otedola Estate on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
According to the Federal Road Safety Commission, the vehicles involved in the crash were cleared off the road at 2am.
According to information from the FRSC, vehicles involved in the crash were FKJ 167 AK, a Skoda Saloon car; AH 723 SMK, a Land Rover Jeep; KSF 806 XC, Volvo truck; and XB 166 NGL, a petrol tanker.
Commuters and motorists were stranded on the road for several hours.
Traffic had to be diverted from the Lagos-Ibadan section of the road to the Ibadan-Lagos end.
FRSC advised motorists to always abide by driving rules to prevent a future occurrence.
