Civil Servants who subscribed to Federal Integrated Staff Housing Scheme through the Zvecan Homes and Estate will get their letters of offer in June.
Nicholas Ogbedo, Managing Director, Zvecan Homes and Estate, made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Monday in Abuja.
NAN gathered that Zvecan homes and estate is one of the private developers accredited by the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation for the FISH programme.
Ogbedo said that the subscribers who have been profiled according to what they could afford would be issued their offer letters by the first week of June.
He said that the letters would be delivered through the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation.
He said: “The OHCSF has given us a list of off takers who are interested in us and we signed an MoU with the OHCSF to provide 700 housing units in Mpape, Kubwa and Apo for civil servants.
“Many off takers chose houses that were above their threshold, so we set up a technical team that is looking at their affordability, so that repayment will not be a challenge.
“So by the end of May through the first week of June, we will start issuing offer letters to our subscribers, so that they will know who are qualified.”
According to him, many of the off takers have already opened accounts with the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria as part of the process and requirement for obtaining a house.
He said that the unique feature about Zvecan homes was that all their houses were en-suit with metropolitan designs, adding that their locations were not far from the city centre.
He said that they were partnering with the Chinese government in executing the project, noting that they are willing to invest their technical knowledge in the FISH houses.
Ogbedo said that one of their major challenges was infrastructure development.
He said: “Infrastructure development is one of our challenges as a private developer for the FISH Programme.
“We want intervention from MDAs like the Ministry of Power Works and Housing, so that the burden of infrastructure is not solely on the developers.
“This kind of intervention will make the houses affordable for civil servants.”
He explained that FISH was a framework designed by the OHCSF to create affordable houses and solve social housing problems for civil servants.
