A body, the Nigeria Leadership Initiative, said it has partnered First Bank of Nigeria Limited to transform youths for national development.
In a statement on Friday in Lagos, the Chief Executive Officer of NLI, Yinka Oyinlola, said that in this regard, the body had scheduled a transformational seminar to hold on May 28 in Lagos.
Oyinlola said that the seminar was to groom emerging public and private sector young leaders.
He said that the seminar tagged: “Future Leader Seminar,” is for youths between 25 years and 35 years.
He said that the event also includes a three-day residential seminar session, aimed at creating a growing global network of “credible and accomplished community-spirited Nigerian leaders”.
Oyinlola said that youths ought to drive positive change in the country.
He added: “Past participants in the seminar inducted as NLI Associates have achieved prominence among top corporate executives, public service and political leaders as well as leading reformers in the civil society sector.
“NLI Associates have continued to exhibit value-based leadership in their spheres of endeavours.”
Folake Ani-Mumuney, Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications of First Bank, said that the bank viewed the partnership with NLI as a strategic platform for enhancing youth empowerment.
Ani-Mumuney said the partnership would also bring capacity building among future leaders.
According to her, youth development is an integral part of the bank’s social responsibility initiatives.
She said: “First Bank is delighted to be part of the NLI series, which represents a sustainable way of passing on leadership and entrepreneurship ideals from respected and proven individuals to the next generation.
“We are confident that the nation stands to gain immensely from leaders that have been produced and those that stand to benefit from the series in future.”
