A fire outbreak occurred on Monday morning at the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission in Abuja.
The Head of Abuja Operation Office of the National emergency Management Agency, Ishaya Chonoko, confirmed the incident.
Chonoko, according to a statement by the Head of Public Relations of NEMA, Yushau Shuaib, said the firebreak at INEC occurred at about 11am.
It affected the annex building of the commission.
NEMA said the timely response of rescue officers, especially firefighters from the Federal and FCT Fire Service, prevented the fire from spreading to other buildings within the premises.
It was learnt that only the Office of the Director of Registry was affected.
