Following the official endorsement of Chief Segun Odegbami’s bid for FIFA the presidency by the Nigeria Players Union, the Association of Professional Footballers of Nigeria has formally written to the President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinick, to endorse him for the race.
In the letter sent to Pinnick, APFON appealed to the leadership of the NFF to endorse Odegbami to contest for the FIFA presidency in the forthcoming election.
The players union drew the NFF’s attention to Odegbami’s exploits on and off the pitch and his contributions to Nigeria and African Football.
According to APFON General Secretary, Austin Popo, the union’s support for Odegbami is more of a moral obligation and justice above any other consideration.
