The quarter-finals of the expanded 2025 FIFA Club World Cup kick off this Friday across the United States, with eight clubs seeking a place in the semi-finals.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the competition is being hosted in the United States for the first time, drawing massive global attention.

All matches will be broadcast live on GOtv, a MultiChoice company offering affordable digital terrestrial television (DTT) services across Nigeria.

Football action begins on Friday at 8pm in Orlando, where Brazilian side Fluminense face Al Hilal from Saudi Arabia.

  • Tinubu renames University of Maiduguri after Buhari
  • Anambra revenue service faults Obi’s claim on brewery’s tax ranking
  • NCC: Nigeria has attained 79.65% teledensity, 48.81% broadband penetration
  • Troops destroy 19 illegal refineries, foil oil theft worth N291m
  • Ondo doctors reject FG’s plan to review allowances

Fluminense have impressed with attacking flair and quick transitions, advancing confidently through the early stages of the tournament.

Al Hilal stunned Manchester City in their opener, underlining the rising strength of Saudi football on the global stage.

Early Saturday, English side Chelsea face Brazilian giants Palmeiras in Philadelphia in a classic Europe versus South America encounter.

The Blues, shaped by a fresh tactical approach, meet a Palmeiras team known for their structure and rapid counter-attacks.

Both clubs are respected globally, making the tie one of the most anticipated.

Kick-off is 2am Nigerian time.

Saturday’s headline fixture at 5pm will see French side PSG clash with Germany’s Bayern Munich in Atlanta.

Many expect this encounter, featuring two Champions League powerhouses, to resemble an early final in intensity and quality.

PSG, fresh European champions, advanced after a dominant 4–0 win over Inter Miami in the round of 16.

Bayern Munich overcame Flamengo in a thrilling 4–2 contest to book their quarter-final place.

The German champions, led by Harry Kane, bring depth, experience, and disciplined tactics to the clash.

Under Vincent Kompany, with stars like Kimmich and Musiala, Bayern arrived with strong pedigree and ambition.

Closing the quarter-finals is a European heavyweight battle between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund at MetLife Stadium, New Jersey at 9pm.

Real Madrid, serial continental winners, remain top contenders, but Dortmund are eager to challenge with energy and precision.

Dortmund’s attacking prowess could test Madrid’s experience, promising an exciting and evenly contested encounter.

GOtv’s exclusive coverage of the FIFA Club World Cup brings premium football content to fans across Africa.

All quarter-final matches will be shown live on SuperSport English Premier League Channel 65.
