Students went agog as old students of the Federal Government College, Minna, Niger State donated chairs and tables valued at about N3.6 million to the school.
The students, who resumed after their midterm break, were visibly excited as they will no longer be crowded in a seat.
While handing over the materials to the Principal of the school on Friday, the leader of the 1988 set of the FGC, Minna, Abubakar Aliyu, assured that the old students would continue to support the growth of the school, appealing to those yet to identify with the body to come forward.
Aliyu added that students of 1988 all over the world tasked themselves and the sum of N3.6 million was realised and utilised to acquire 140 chairs and tables, 100 stools and to renovate 80 chairs and tables.
An elated Principal, Abdulkadir Abdulrazaq Aseyi, while commending the old students for contributing to their Alma Mata, said the old chairs and tables in the school were obsolete and insufficient.
Aseyi added that the impact of the 1988 set is a thing of pride and will motivate the students and boost their learning morals in achieving success.
The Senior Secondary School 3 students are the main beneficiaries as the nine arms with 40 students per class all had new tables and chairs.
