The Federal Government has promised to unmask and deal decisively with perpetrators of Sunday’s killings of worshippers at the St. Philips Catholic Church, Ozubulu in Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State.
The Minister of Interior, retired Lieutenant General Abdulrahman Dambazau, made the pledge in a statement signed by the Director Press in the Ministry, Willie Bassey, on Monday in Abuja.
The minister condemned in strongest terms the killings and assured that all hands will be on deck to bring the perpetrators to justice.
Dambazau commiserated with Governor Willie Obiano, the Ozubulu community, families who lost their loved ones, the injured and the entire people of Anambra State.
He described the incidence as a wicked and cowardly act which the Police and other security agencies were working hard to unravel.
Unidentified gunmen had attacked the church in Anambra State in the early hours of Sunday, killing scores of worshippers, while many others were injured in the attack.
President Muhammadu Buhari had condemned the incident describing it as “an appalling crime against humanity and unspeakable sacrilege”.
