The Federal Government has paid about N1.65 trillion to states across the federation for the settlement of Paris Club Refund.
The Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmed who made this known on Monday in Abuja, explained that $5.4 billion was paid to states.
The money was released to the states last week.
The Paris Club Refund to states is paid based on some conditions.
Some of the conditions are payment of outstanding salaries and a commitment to clearing matching grants from the Universal Basic Education Commission, where some States have available funds, which could be used to improve primary education.
