The Federal Government FG has approved the replacement of Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye as the Director General of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control.
Adeyeye, whose tenure lapsed since November 2, 2022, was replaced with Prof. Monica Eimunjeze in acting capacity.
The replacement was contained in a leaked Internal Memo signed by the agency’s Director of Human Resources Management, A. U. Oboli, dated November, 2022.
The memo notified the Directors of various Units and Departments of the appointment of Prof. Eimunjeze as the acting DG.
The memo, with reference number: NAFDAC/ADM/SM/075, had as its subject: “Appointment of Acting Director General NAFDAC.”
It reads in part: “The management is in receipt of a letter appointing Dr Monica Eimunjeze as the Acting Director General NAFDAC with effect from 12th November, 2022.
“I am therefore directed to bring this development to you for information and guidance.”
Meanwhile, the acting DG is set to convene and host a meeting with the agency’s Directors on November 22, 2022.
