Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State on Monday commended the management and players of Rivers Angels Football Club for winning this year’s Women’s Federation Sup.
Rivers Angles beat Bayelsa Queens of Yenagoa 5-3 on penalties to win the cup on Sunday.
Wike, in a congratulatory message to the team in Port Harcourt, said the government and the people of the state are proud of their exploits.
He also praised them for being disciplined and played good football, which led to the successful outing in the Women’s Federation Cup.
Wike assured the players and management of the club of government’s continued support to ensure that they remained worthy ambassadors of the state.
He said that the team would always be appreciated by the good people of the state.
