Fayose, a specially created being, says pilgrims commission scribe

The Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission, Pastor John-Kennedy Opara, has described the Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, as a man who has a lot up his sleeves to make life better for people of the state.

Opara, who led a team of the Commission on a visit to the Governor’s Office on pilgrimage sensitisation on Friday, said he has known Fayose as a man that will not go to sleep until the people of the state have slept.

According a press statement by the Chief Press Secretary to Fayose, Idowu Adelusi in Ado Ekiti on Friday, Opara noted that Fayose remains a man specially created by God to better the lots of the common man, saying “he is one of the rarest gentleman that God has given to us at this time”.

He said that pilgrimage has over the years been a tool for moral and spiritual transformation, noting that the Commission has included skill acquisition as part of the pilgrimage with a view to empowering the pilgrims.

He itemised Easter pilgrimage, Youth pilgrimage, Family pilgrimage and the main pilgrimage between October and December as the four types of the exercise, with an invitation to the governor to be part of this  year’s “A Day with Jesus” scheduled for October 25 in Israel to pray for the whole nation.

Fayose, who commended Opara for being a man who has been standing in the gap for the country, noted that the Executive Secretary remains one man who wholeheartedly sows towards the upliftment of the country but would not mention it.

He pledged the support and prayers of the people of the state for the good works of the Commission, with a promise to attend the prayer programme in Israel in October.

Fayose, who described his second coming as governor of the state as a divine arrangement, said he would continue to be grateful to God for giving him victories over all of the that confronted him.

He said: “We cannot go far without God.

“God gives power but such power must be administered in the fear of God.

“The more reason I have made the welfare of the common man my priority.”
