The remains of a former Deputy Governor of Bauchi State, Alhaji Garba Muhammad-Gadi, who died in an Indian hospital three days ago, are to be buried on Saturday.
The body is expected to arrive in Nigeria on Friday evening.
A close relation to the deceased, Alhaji Abdurrahman Nuhu-Bayero, told the News Agency of Nigeria in Zaria, Kaduna State on Friday that the funeral prayer would be held at the Central Mosque, Azare, in Bauchi State, at about 11am.
NAN recalls that Muhammad-Gadi died at the age of 70 after a protracted illness, leaving behind three wives and 15 children.
Muhammad-Gadi served as deputy governor in the administration of Governor Isa Yuguda from 2007 to 2011.
He was also the National Chairman, Merger Committee, which supervised the fusing of the Congress for Progressive Change with other political parties, that gave birth to the All Progressives Congress.
