The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has apologised to passengers and other airport users, who witnessed a temporary power outage at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, at about 2315hours yesterday, Friday, April 1, 2022.
FAAN Ag. General Manager, Corporate Affairs, Faithful A. Hope-Ivbaze, expressed the apology in a statement she issued Saturday.
The outage, she indicated, was due to yesterday’s rainfall, which came with very fierce winds and storms, a natural occurrence, adding, that the development affected one of the agency’s feeders and subsequently resulted in the temporary disruption to power supply at the D wing of the airport.
She confirmed that FAAN engineers have quickly discovered the fault, liaised with the Ejigbo duty/area control office of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria and together resolved the problem.
Hope-Ivbaze also confirmed that normalcy has since been restored at the affected area.
