Staff of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria have been charged to internalize the aviation master plan in order to enhance efficiency in service delivery at all Nigerian airports.
They have also been enjoined to translate the vision and mission of the Authority into realizable and achievable building blocks.
The Managing Director of FAAN, Mr. George Uriesi, gave the charge in a strategic session with the management of the Authority in Lagos.
According to Uriesi, the organization must change the business model of the airport into one that is self-sustaining and creates a conducive business environment that would be attractive to the private sector.
Uriesi added that the Authority’s management was committed to equipping the airports with modern, state-of-the-art facilities, in line with global trends.
He charged top management to put into practice strategic imperatives acquired from the just concluded ministerial retreat held for the top management of aviation parastatals by the Federal Ministry Aviation.
Uriesi said that the strategic thrust of that retreat was to make air transport a preferred and safest means of transportation.
It was also designed to create a self-sustaining business model and develop socio-economic growth in Nigeria.
He then charged the members of the Authority’s Leadership Team to mobilize their immediate staff, aviation stakeholders and the general public to participate actively in the ongoing transformation of Nigerian airports.
