The Nigerian Meteorological Agency has predicted cloudy weather conditions over the Central States on Saturday with prospect of localised thunderstorms over Mambilla axis and slim chances over Abuja in the morning.
NiMet’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office in Abuja on Friday also predicted day and night temperatures in the range of 28 to 39 and 18 to 27 degrees Celsius respectively.
It added that there were prospects of isolated thunderstorms over places like Kaduna, Jos, Abuja, Makurdi, Lokoja and Minna axis in the afternoon and evening hours.
The agency predicted that the Southern States would experience cloudy morning and isolated thunderstorms over Calabar and Port Harcourt with day and night temperatures in the range of 32 to 35 and 23 to 24 degrees respectively.
It also predicted isolated thunderstorms over Enugu, Awka and Akure axis on the inland areas with a better prospect of thunderstorms over the coastal region during the afternoon and evening hours.
According to NiMet, Northern States will experience partly cloudy to cloudy conditions throughout the period of forecast with day and night temperature values in the ranges of 39 to 42 and 26 to 28 degrees Celsius respectively.
NiMet predicted: “Partly cloudy conditions are expected over the northern cities with chances of isolated thunderstorms over some parts of central cities and Southern states in the next 24 hours.”
