A frontline governorship aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party in Taraba state and immediate past Minister of State for Niger Delta Affairs, Chief Dickson Darius Ishaku, has commended the Supreme Court judgment affirming Alhaji Abubakar Danladi as the new acting governor of Taraba State.
The judgement, on Friday, sacked the Acting Governor of the state, Garba Umar.
Ishaku described the judgment as an end to tyranny in the state.
Ishaku, in a statement on Friday, said the judgment signifies a new dawn in the politics and governance of Taraba State.
He urged the people of the state to brace up for another peaceful reign witnessed under the leadership of Governor Danbaba Suntai.
According to Chief Ishaku: “Our state has witnessed oppression in the last two years when Graba Umar took over the reign of leadership.
“Umar failed to write his name in gold but instead brought crisis and untold hardship to the people of the southern Taraba and the once peaceful state in general.”
Chief Ishaku, who noted that the Supreme Court judgment has restored hope in Taraba State, urged the new leadership of the state to restore peace and discipline in governance.
Chief Ishaku further noted that the task of restoring sanity in the governance of Taraba State should be the priority of the new acting governor who must to everything possible to redress the injustice perpetrated by the sacked Garba Umar administration.
