Police Command in Enugu State said that the abducted former lawmaker in Enugu State House of Assembly, Ude Okoye, has regained freedom.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Ebere Amaraizu, disclosed this to News Agency of Nigeria in Enugu on Tuesday.
NAN recalls that Okoye, who was a former leader of the state House Assembly, was kidnapped by masked men on Monday, at about 7 p.m, while returning from his farm in Agbogugu community, in Awgu Local Government Area of the state.
Amaraizu said: “The abducted victim has regained freedom after an intensified and non-stop trail within the Awgu axis of the state.
“We are still continuing on intensified manhunt to track down the perpetrators and bring them to book.”
NAN learnt that the abductors released their victim and fled at about 4 p.m. this evening.
Okoye was a former National Youth Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party.
